An auxiliary screen will then be opened with the following information:
|1||Dictionaries||Located on the left-hand side of the screen. When one is selected, all content channels of the selected dictionary will appear.|
|2||Portlets||Located on the right side of the screen. It is where all available channels appear.|
When the user selects the option "Add Channel", the following instructions must be followed:
- Press the dictionary button.
- Select a dictionary on an available database.
- All results will be shown on the right side of the pop-up window. When a portlet (channel) has been found, the user must click the icon located on the right-hand side of each available channel.

- If the dictionary selected is a dictionary for a unique database, the selected channel will be added directly to the desktop.
- If the dictionary is a dictionary for more than one database, the system will ask which database the query will be applied to. Select then the desired database.
The video below shows a step-by-step example of how to add several channels to your desktop.
2.1.1 Add Database
When the user clicks on the channel, an auxiliary window will be opened in order to select a database. The user can change the title and the number of rows needed for a channel.
An available database will be set to connect to the group defined by the user.
2.1.2 Channel Options
The channel has some options that the user can use:
Show edit channel buttonThe Edit Channel button can only be viewed when the user hovers over it.
Some channels allow the user to interact by filtering data.
Quick filter options
When a channel offers quick filter options (meta query conditions), similar to those used in objects, users are allowed to apply certain preconfigured conditions to a channel.
In this example, the user can filter the results and thus view only the results greater than 70.000, the same or less than 70.000, or see all the results.
The symbols are a selection of elements that the user can choose to filter the information. In this example, it is possible to filter the information of a product using the PRODUCTS symbol. This symbol shows us the names of all the products: selecting one, the information that the channel shows will be filtered according to that product.
When the desktop has a limited number of symbols, the channel databases and the names of the symbols that it applies to the channels are displayed at the top right of the screen. It will also show which elements have been selected from the symbol. There are two methods of filtering using symbols:
- Channel configuration: the selection of the elements of a symbol through the configuration of a channel will filter only the results of that channel.
Global Channel Settings: the upper part of the screen shows the databases and the symbol selections applied.
Up there, the selection of symbol elements will filter the results of all the channels where that symbol is applied,
since the same symbol can apply to several channels.
In this example, when items 351 and 664 of the Products symbol are selected, the system automatically updates the data of the two channels that use this symbol.
The column selection
Some channels offer the possibility of selecting some columns of the channels among various options. By clicking on the icon that only these types of channels show, the system allows the user to choose between one or another column: this will modify the channel columns.
The user can resize a channel and drag it wherever they prefer on the desktop.
3.1 Add Note
The option to add post-it notes or reminders to the desktop can be very convenient for users. This is done via the option "Add Note", located in the panel on the right.
These notes have the following options:
|1||Color||Select between different post-it colors.|
|2||Maximize||Extend the post-it's window size.|
|3||Delete||Delete post-it from the desktop.|
