Code | Rule code |
Name | Rule name |
Expires | This field determines the number of days that need to pass in order to force the user to change its password. The input is a positive int or 0. If the input is greater than 0, the password will expire after the number of specified days, and will force the user to change the password. If the input is 0, the password will not expire and will never force the user to change it |
Minimum length | This field determines the minimum length that the password should have The input is a positive integer or 0. An input greater than 0 will determine the minimum length of the password This does not imply that the password should have the exact same length fixed by the field, but it can have the desired length as long as it surpasses the minimun length marked by this field. If the input is equal to 0, then empty passwords will be allowed. |
No repeat | This field determines the number of times that the user has to change passwords in order to be able to repeat a password again The field admits positive integers and 0. If the input is positive, the user will need to change X times the password (the indicated number by the field) before being able to repeat the same password again. If the input is 0, the user will be able to repeat the password without limits. It is important noting that an input equal to 0 does not imply that the user will be able to insert the same password whenever the user wants to change it. It is mandatory that the new password be different from the old one, even though the user will be able to insert the old password when he wants to update the new password |
Req. Number | This field determines whether the passwords need to contain numbers for them to be valid. This is a flag field (boolean). If the flag is checked, the new passwords will need to contain numbers whenever they are changed. It is worth noting than the flag being checked does not imply that the password need to be numerical because they can contain alphabetical and special characters. However, it is mandatory that they have numerical characters. If the field is not checked it is not needed that the password contain numerical characters (even though they could contain them if wanted)
|
Req. Alpha | This field determines whether the passwords need to contain alphabetical characters for them to be valid. This is a flag field (boolean). If the flag is checked, the new passwords will need to contain alphabetical characters whenever they are changed. If the field is not checked, then it is not needed that the password contain alphabetical characters (even though they could contain them if wanted)
|
Req. Mix case | This field determines whether the passwords need to contain uppercase and lowercase letters for them to be valid. This is a flag field (boolean). If the flag is checked, the new passwords will need to contain uppercase and lowercase letters whenever they are changed. If the field is not checked, then it is not needed that the password contain uppercase and lowercase letters (even though they could contain them if wanted)
|
Req. Symbol | This field determines whether the passwords need to contain special characters (#,@,_,...) for them to be valid. This is a flag field (boolean). If the flag is checked, the new passwords will need to contain special characters whenever they are changed. If the field is not checked it is not needed that the password contain special characters (even though they could contain them if wanted)
