SOAP is a protocol developed to interchange structured information in a distributed environment, allowing to invoke methodes (functions) remotely. Simple Object Access Protocol is based in standard protocols of internet: HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) for the transmition and XML (eXtended Markup Language) for the data coding.
